Bonefish Grill Says #HelloNewMenu with the addition of thirty-nine new menu items this month! I have had the pleasure of eating from their already extensive menu in the past, and could survive on their brunch alone. I usually take my boys out for “mommy and me” dates individually to Bonefish Grill, and all of them love it as well. I took advantage of the new menu as a chance to get a date night with my husband, the first since Baby3.0 arrived. Baby3.0 happily joined us, while the other boys stayed at my moms for a few hours.
As always, we were seated quickly and the server arrived promptly. We ordered two drinks from the bar (the new Signature Red Sangria and a Wild Orchard Hawaiian Martini) while deciding on which starter to get. My husband almost bounced out of the seat with excitement that Bonefish now has a Cold Snap Fresh Ceviche, and while I had no clue what that even was I was game to try it. the ceviche comes in a “glass” made of ice with a side of nachos, and is full of avocado, scallops, shrimp, and other assorted seafood and veggies. It had a heavy lime taste (yum) and went perfect with the warm chips it was served with.
My husband made a big production of looking at the menu while we were deciding dinner. I knew as soon as I looked over the menu that I would have the Shrimp Pad Thai and he would go for the Spicy Tuna. I don’t know why he didn’t realize it. Finally he decided (I was right) and we ordered. This was my first time without a child old enough to color and I told my husband how they give children crayons to color on the table. He was amazed and wished Baby3.0 was older so we would have gotten crayons. Baby3.0 happily munched on my napkin and paid his father no mind.
Dinner, as expected, was amazing. We both practically licked our plates clean. My husband’s Spicy Tuna was so rare it was almost swimming still (just how he likes it) and my Shrimp Pad Thai was heavy on shrimp, light on peanut, and absolute perfection. The portions were generous without being overbearing, and we still managed to save room for dessert, but first another drink. He got a second sangria, and I tried the new Ocean Trust Tropic Heat Martini. My Hawaiian martini had a floating orchid as a garnish, the ocean one had a jalapeno! The sweet martini mixed with the spicy pepper was unique and fun. Bonefish Grill donates $1 to the Ocean Trust charity for every Ocean Trust martini sold.
The dessert was where the real struggle to decide came in. I had looked at the new menu before we went on our date, and the S’mores Flatbread was the top contender. We love S’mores. One of the dinner specials was a Banana Split Flatbread dessert, and I was torn. In the end we opted for the S’mores an it was ooey gooey chocolatey goodness. The king of perfect timing, Baby3.0 decided he was tired of watching us eat and needed to nurse just as the dessert arrived, but i managed to eat my half one handed.
