My mother loves shoes. To guess she has over one hundred pairs would not be an exaggeration. She probably owns even more than that if I counted them all. Flip flops, heels, wedges, boots, sneakers, mules, sandals and more are stacked in her closets. The shoe loving gene seems have skipped me. My shoe preference is barefoot. If forced to wear shoes my current options are flip flops or boots. I don’t even own heels. If I ever need to actually dress up I borrow a pair, then usually take them off promptly once I’m out.
I even garden barefoot. Now that it’s spring I spend a few hours a week outside playing in the gardens. The front gardens are flower beds, and I weed that about once a week. We have about 1/3 of the veggie garden tilled and planted, but once the rain stops in a few days I plan on turning over another 1/3 to add cantaloupe and watermelon. I’m going to need to give in and get shoes for that part of the gardening; manually turning over a garden and digging with a shovel is easier with shoes. I don’t want to waste money on shoes I’ll never wear once the gardening is done, so I’ve been looking online.
All that looking around online led me to Clark Shoes. With a whopping 192 years in business, Clark Shoes has over 22,000 styles in varying widths. I fell in love with the comfortable looking wedges, and can already picture myself glamorously gardening in them. What I like most is knowing I can also throw them on with a sundress to dress them up and wear them when not gardening. I spent so much time perusing the website I realized maybe that shoe gene didn’t skip me it just took a few years longer to activate! The $10 off $75 purchase sale has me ready to shop!
