This craft really took a matter of minutes to do, and came out so cute. I have a whole list of Valentine’s Day crafts I want to try out with the boys, and this one we ended up giving to my husband immediately. I hung it on the fridge for him to see when he came in from class that night, since we had gone to bed already. There will be a different craft made for him before Valentine’s Day, this time from all the boys not just the only cooperative one home at the time.
We took a blue piece of construction paper (it was the first one in the pack but any color will do) and folded it in half. I placed Jacob’s hand on the paper so that his thumb and pointer finger were touching the crease. I traced around his hand, then cut out along the lin, skipping over the part where his fingers overlapped the crease. These two points need to stay together to form the top and bottom of the heart! If you do this on heavier paper, this could be your card in itself, but we used construction paper so I used a glue stick to glue the opened hands onto a separate piece of paper! BAM instant card. From there we personalized it with Jacob’s nad and year, and made a little message on the paper.
