Yes! there is more Christmas fun to be had in Hershey, PA for the holidays besides Candylane and Sweet Lights! The first night of our stay I didn’t want to do too much more than let the boys check out the hotel and see the Hershey Gardens. We stayed at Hotel Hershey and the gardens were a 2 minute walk through the parking lot, so no driving was necessary.
The gardens get transformed into Santa’s Secret Garden for winter, with crafting stations, a holiday themed “photo booth” outside, fake snow to play with, tons of lights, and Santa. It was not busy at all, so the boys had a lot of time to play with the different props in the photo booth area before we walked over to see Santa (free just have your camera ready) and then on to see the rest of the gardens. Each boy received a sapling after seeing Santa, even Michael who shoved Santa away and said “no” when I tried to get him in the picture.
From there we walked around the Christmas light lit path to see a live owl from ZooAmerica and learn about what it eats and lives in the wild. The whole garden is decorated with twinkling lights, sprigs of evergreen, bows and truly is beautiful. The greenhouse was transformed into Santa’s greenhouse with winter plants and even more lights sand decorations. We skipped the craft because by that point Michael was overwhelmed, but we did go in the play area and play with fake snow!
