Earlier in the week I told you about our family mini vacation to Hershey Park Candylane to see the park’s Christmas display. As I mentioned in that post, there was so much more to do in Hershey for Christmas than visit the park. The last thing we did (see how I am telling my visit out of order) was go to the drive through holiday light show about a mile or two from the park in the middle of the woods, Hershey Sweet Lights.
We had recently done a different drive through light show so Jacob was not as excited as the others before we got there. He kept saying we already saw the lights. Once we got to Hershey Sweet Lights he changed his mind and was excited. With over 600 displays and 2 miles of driving through the various themed sections like storybooks, amusement park, woodland creatures, 12 days of Christmas and more.
All the lights were amazing but my favorite ones were the ones that moved. There was a roller coaster that rolled, a ferris wheel, squirrels climbing the trees and more. In the story book section Rapunzel even let her hair down from the castle and the prince climbed up it. There was a fun “find the Rudolphs” section of the drive through where the boys excitedly pointed out each Rudolph.
I loved how slow and laid back it was driving through. The other light show we did that was drive through it felt like the people in the cars behind us were in a rush. At Hershey Sweet Lights, everyone was driving at a leisurely pace, and when I stopped the car for a picture or to take a video of the lights in motion I didn’t feel like I was holding anyone up, and it was relaxing. You pay per car load and the kids get fun 3D glasses upon arrival. The show is open until January 1st so load up a car and head over!
