Spring Cleaning With A Purpose means different things to people, but for me it is getting rid of unnecessary clutter while also giving back to a good cause. A few times a year, but mostly spring, I get rid of all clothes and appliances I haven’t worn/used this year, as well as random knickknacks that mysteriously appeared which don’t fit my decor. If you weren’t motivated to participate in Spring Cleaning, now you will be – with the motivation from Goodwill’s job creation!!!
Over the past several years, most of us have had a family member, friend, acquaintance struggle in this economy. Either they have lost a job or struggled to find employment. And if not someone you know personally, really, all you have to do is turn on the TV or pull up social media to see the struggle. It is real.
Goodwill’s career centers, training programs and staffing operations give people the resources, skills and confidence that changes thousands of lives each year.

I’m lucky to not only live a mile from a Goodwill drop off and store but also two miles from a Goodwill Outlet. When I’m lucky I can simultaneously drop off my gently used goods while also adding to my vintage Pyrex collection. My vintage addiction is why I recounted so often; for every drop off I reward myself with a mixing bowl!
It’s finally beginning to feel like spring so I’m ready to get organized and start Spring Cleaning. Not only am I clearing the seasonal misfits out of my kids’ closets and preparing for my new summer wardrobe, but I’m looking for ways to give back to those around me. Donating to Goodwill helps me do both at the same time!
What are your favorite spring cleaning or decluttering tips? What tricks do you use for the best spring cleaning efforts? I like to break down my cleaning room by room. One day I’ll do my bedroom, another the kids room, and of course the out of control playroom gets a full day. Seriously, where do all these toys come from?
